Planning Approved for a Rear Extension – Clevedon, North Somerset

We were appointed to prepare the architectural drawings and planning application for a proposed two-storey rear extension at 9 Glebe Road, Clevedon, North Somerset (BS21 6QD).

The project aimed to increase the usable space within the existing home by extending the property to the rear while maintaining a design that remained sympathetic to the character of the surrounding residential area.

Project Brief

The homeowners wished to improve the layout and functionality of the property by creating additional internal space across two floors.

The proposed development included a two-storey rear extension designed to provide:

A larger kitchen area at ground floor level

An additional bedroom at first floor level

Improved internal layout and circulation within the property

The design was carefully developed to ensure the extension integrated well with the existing house and complied with the planning policies set by North Somerset District Council.

Planning Application

We prepared the existing and proposed architectural drawings required for submission and coordinated the planning application with the local planning authority.

The proposal demonstrated that the extension would:

Enhance the functionality of the home without negatively impacting the surrounding area

The application was successfully approved by North Somerset District Council on 5th December 2018.
